This minty green chia smoothie is a tasty way to get your greens!
I’m a huge smoothie fan. Isn’t everyone? Smoothies are a great way to load up on nutrients with minimal time and effort. They’re easy to throw together when you’re short on time and in need of food. Not to mention, they’re super delicious!
This smoothie is the champion of all green smoothies —seriously. It actually tastes like mint chocolate ice cream! . . . but the deep green color comes from kale instead of artificial colors! The mint color comes from real mint leaves, too — it doesn’t get any fresher than that! There are so many leaves in this smoothie, it could probably pass for a salad.
Don’t worry, though. It sure doesn’t taste like one.
The other star ingredient in this smoothie is CHIA! Ch-ch-ch-chia! <— That never gets old, right?
Chia seeds are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which may improve cardiovascular health. They’re also full of fiber, antioxidants, and minerals. I featured chia seeds in these coconutty chunky monkey chia parfaits, where I blended the seeds with nut milk to make a creamy, smooth pudding. Personally, I prefer blended chia seeds to whole, since I think they’re easier to digest. The seeds are blended together in this smoothie to fully unlock all of their delicious benefits! This #paleo and #vegan Minty Green Chia Smoothie is chock-ful of vitamins, antioxidants, and… Click To Tweet
This minty green chia smoothie also has a frozen banana for creaminess and sweetness, chocolate protein powder for protein (duh), vanilla extract for flavor, and almond milk to help everything come together. You could easily make this smoothie in two minutes. Or less. It’s the perfect breakfast or snack when you’re short on time!
I hope you guys make (and love) this smoothie! It’s

I had a lot of fun while shooting this recipe . . . what is it about photographing smoothies that gets me so excited?
As always, feel free to customize this recipe as you see fit. It would be great in “bowl” form, especially with some banana slices, paleo coconut granola, and even MORE chia seeds on top! It’ll be delicious, no matter how you eat it!
