Mexican Hot Cocoa Latte

This Mexican Hot Cocoa Latte is the perfect thing to keep you warm during these cold winter months! It’s super easy to make, and you can keep it Whole30 with one simple modification. This drink is cheaper and healthier than the expensive lattes at your local coffee shop. You should give it a try!

Hey! I am back (albeit a little late, oops) with a new blog post for you all! This is such a delicious latte, and it’s a little stronger than some of my recent coffee creations (see this Gingersnap Caramel Latte and this Pumpkin Spice Latte). Whereas the sugar is hard to omit from those recipes, it’s easy to take it out of this one. I only added a teaspoon of maple syrup to this latte, but you can play with the measurement based on how big your sweet tooth and how great your dedication to Whole30 is. 😉

I could have called this a Mexican Mocha, but it just doesn’t sound as good as a Mexican Hot Cocoa Latte . . . or is that just me?

Regardless of what you want to call it, I’m sure you’ll love this latte! It’s hard to go wrong with coffee and chocolate, and it tastes even better when you add cinnamon and a tiny bit of cayenne pepper to the mix.

School is back in session . . . you can tell by the fact that I’ve slept 8 hours in the past 48 hours (oops). What can I say, school is a lot of work. Luckily, everything I’ve been doing is meaningful in some way . . . it’s not just a bunch of busywork! Luckily pt. 2, I’m on track to go to bed on time tonight, so that’s nice!

I’m running low on recipe ideas for the new year, so let me know what you want to see! And speaking of content, how would you feel about another bullet journal post? I’ve done two in the past (my March and August 2018 layouts), and I’m thinking about doing one for February this year!

I also want to post a few photos that I took over winter break. We had a TON of snow in my town (that’s relative — it was a ton for us!), so I got some cool shots of that. We also had a few foggy days, and I snapped some photos of everything enveloped in fog. I’m excited to share them with you! 🙂 Maybe in another Friday Favorites post?

I’m going to wrap up today’s blog post here. I’ll be back on Thursday or Friday with another recipe! Again, send me recipe requests! The best way is via Instagram — my profile is linked in the right-hand sidebar, but my handle is @mysweetpotatolife in case you need it 🙂
