Iced Mocha Lattes (DF, Whole30 Option)

These dairy-free Iced Mocha Lattes are absolutely delicious! They’re low-carb, dairy-free, and (of course) Paleo. Plus, you can easily modify them to make Whole30 lattes!

Iced Mocha Lattes

This is my new favorite coffee drink! Now that the temperature hovers between 95º and 100º every day in my lovely little scorched hometown, I decided to pour my everyday coconut oil coffee over ice. Then, I modified the recipe a little to share on the blog. These Iced Mocha Lattes have almond milk for creaminess and coconut oil for extra creaminess and froth on top. They also have coffee and cocoa powder (obviously), and you can add maple syrup to make a sweeter drink if you like.

This is definitely my go-to drink now; I probably make it every day. It’s kind of perfect for me, because one serving doesn’t have a ton of coffee. I’ve been avoiding caffeine for about six months now, because large servings make me jittery. We recently ran out of decaf, but I didn’t want to stop drinking coffee. I simply drank less! When I modify this drink for one serving, I use as much almond milk as coffee!

These Iced Mocha Lattes are refreshing and perfect for summer! If you like sweet coffee (I do!), the maple syrup is delicious. If you are on a Whole30/avoiding sugar or prefer unsweetened coffee, this drink is just as good without the syrup. I try to limit my consumption of added sweeteners (even natural ones like maple syrup), so I drank an unsweetened version of this almost every day last week. It was great!

  1. Blend the coffee, coconut oil, almond milk, maple syrup, and cocoa powder together until creamy and foamy.
  2. Place desired amount of ice in a glass or cup. Pour the coffee over ice and enjoy!
Recipe Notes

This recipe works with warm coffee best, because the coconut oil needs a little heat to melt. The drink cools down quickly with the ice, so even hot coffee works.

 

For a Whole30 latte, omit the maple syrup.
