This Everything Bagel Baked Broccoli is delicious, simple, and Whole30! It is a great way to get your bagel fix, but full of with vegetables instead of bread!
Okay, I lied. This broccoli tastes nothing like bagels.
It tastes better.
I may be biased against bagels, because I rarely ate them before I went Paleo! In fact, I’ve had one bagel in the past two years. It was gluten-free, and it was terrible.
Now, I stick to everything bagel baked broccoli! Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable, so it’s full of nutrients! When baked, it becomes crispy and delicious. The everything bagel seasoning puts the dish over the top; it is garlicky, onion-y (is that a word?), and packed with crunchy sesame seeds!
I’ve made this recipe multiple times, and it’s on my January Whole30 meal plan! This is one of my favorite Whole30 recipes. It is impossible to go wrong with vegetables, right?! I’d love combine this everything bagel baked broccoli with some more veggies — sweet potatoes, maybe? 😉 — to make a buddha bowl!
I haven’t always enjoyed vegetables, because I used to be a picky eater who preferred corn-tortilla-and-peanut-butter-wrapped bananas (I know, it sounds gross .. . it wasn’t!) to broccoli and sweet potatoes. Fortunately, I am much less picky now, and I love vegetables!
Don’t get me wrong, I will still devour a plate of brown rice pasta, but I’ll be sure to have salad on the side. Not only do I enjoy vegetables, I know how important they are to my health.
Vegetables have a bad reputation because they are often prepared in boring, plain, and flat-out disgusting ways! That is not the case with this recipe; everything bagel baked broccoli is basically vegetable candy. (Actually, that title goes to the orange balsamic beets that I’ll share later this month. This broccoli is . . . mm, maybe vegetable crack.) It’s so good!
I don’t know about you all, but I can’t stand raw broccoli, or even soggy steamed broccoli. The best way to prepare broccoli is by baking it, because it gets crispy and delicious! It’s even more delicious with a dash of everything bagel seasoning . . . wink wink.
Also, did I mention that this recipe is Whole30? Yes, I did. BUT BUT BUT it’s also all of these things:
- Gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, soy-free
- Simple and easy
- Perfect for meal-prepping
- Perfect for buddha bowl-ing
- Delicious. You probably don’t think that broccoli can taste this good, but it does.
