These Chocolate Hazelnut Energy Balls taste like dessert, but they are secretly healthy! They contain only five ingredients — dates, hazelnuts, cacao powder, nut milk, and coconut oil. They’re the perfect on-the-go snack (or, let’s be real, dessert).
I love these Chocolate Hazelnut Energy Balls! I can eat the whole batch because they’re healthy, right? Well, not exactly . . . but I (and you!) can still enjoy these treats with the knowledge that they’re good for us! They’re full of healthy carbs and fats, so they’re perfect for a pre-race (or run) snack. They are also pretty small, so you don’t have to worry about getting a stomachache if you work out after eating these.
The greatest thing about these Chocolate Hazelnut Energy Balls isn’t their snack-ability (is that a word?) . . . it’s their flavor! I haven’t eaten Nutella in years, but I swear these taste like Nutella brownies, albeit a raw/vegan/Paleo version. They are so good!
As you can see in these photos, I rolled a few of these in cocoa powder to make them look like truffles. This was such a fun photo shoot! (Especially because I took a bite out of one or two of the Chocolate Hazelnut Energy Balls . . . you know, for aesthetic photography purposes 😉 )
In other news, I’m going out of town tomorrow! I can’t share my location right now for safety purposes (I’m kinda paranoid about that kind of stuff), but I’m thinking about sharing a travel recap on here! Let me know in the comments if you’d like to see that! One of the things I’m most excited for is (of course) the food. My mom and I cook a lot, so I almost never get packaged food — not even healthy snacks like RXBars and Lärabars. However, I’m going to pick up some bars and things for this trip. That way, I’ll have healthy Paleo snacks when I need them!
Now that I’m thinking about it, these Chocolate Hazelnut Energy Balls would be the perfect snack to bring along!
