  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Whisk the ground flaxseed and water together in a small dish. Set aside so the mixture can gelatinize and form a “flax egg.”
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: almond flour, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder.
  4. Make a well in the dry ingredients. Pour in the flax egg, maple syrup, and coconut oil. Stir all the ingredients to combine.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 7-inch skillet and bake for approximately 20 minutes, or until the brownies have formed a crust but are still soft and gooey in the middle.
